NEW SHEETS AVAILABLE!!
Hey, its NATS time again. Omaha is hosting the IPMS USA National Convention for 2011, and as usual, we’ll be there in force. Geoff and I will be manning the table, along with a few compadres, and as always, we’d love it you’d drop on by and say howdy.
This round, we’ve gone off into some new subject matter, to include SR-71s and A-6s. We heard nearly non-stop clamoring for good Blackbird sheets, so Geoff went off on a Blackbird hunt, and here we are! You can get 2 outstanding sheets covering this massive and just incredibly cool jet. The A-6s were also one of Geoff’s inspirations, and in keeping with our penchant for combat deployed airframes, we picked some extremely wicked jets from Desert Storm. The new Hobby Boss A-6E is due, so we thought we’d get cranked up. Not the last A-6s from us…count on it.
Another new thing for us is a squadron “history” sheet that covers different airframes. In looking at the 2 Centennial of Naval Aviation jets that VFA-106 has, we decided that it was incredibly lame to just feature those 2 jets…inaccurately…so we dug around and came up with a ton of stuff on the Gladiators, and decided that we’d cover the squadron from…oh, the past 45 years or so! I LOVE this format…it’s something we’ll also do more of.
The Super Bug CAGs have just gone like crazy for us, so as more units paint their jets and transition, we’ll jump on ‘em. Nobody covers hornets quite the way we do, and this format is a lot of work, but it’s also a great deal for our customers. We’ve previewed some upcoming stuff on the forum, so if you haven’t dropped in lately, go give it a look. Lots of new stuff on the way this year, including a project that I’ve been a little involved in for the Air Force, and is a subject that I guarantee will blow some skirts smooth over some heads.
So, here’s what we have out right now…

48-078 – "Blackbirds Part #1" is a radical departure, being the first foray into SR-71s. For a long time, there has been clamoring for good markings for the SR-71s that haunt everybody's stash. Now, the excuse is removed from building them! The sheet covers 11 jets, from the mid 90s through retirement, including a NASA jet, and several combat jets with mission markings and tail art. The sheet contains full stencils and extensive modeling notes. |

This is a very complete history of the markings for one of the most well known squadrons in naval aviation. |
All will be available starting August 3rd. These are regular releases, available directly from the website or retailers but those who attend the IPMS NATS will be able to purchase them first at the show.
As always, we appreciate your business and your help with projects more than we can say. Hope to see some of y’all in Omaha!
